These directors work closely with operating room supervisor to share information regarding requirements and medical needs, and may help monitor staff and provide leadership in technicalities when referring individuals to different medical areas. They may be responsible for modifying times and providing pre-operation care, as well as interacting with surgical assistants and directing them to complete medical tasks. They log information, write reports, and communicate with patients and community representatives, and also provide oversight for medical surgeries and assist in recovery by following up with patients and their families.

They budget materials and operating room time distribution and should be able to multitask on a variety of projects to achieve institutional goals in a timely manner. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing/Hospital Administration
Current registered nursing license from country of professional practice
Minimum of eight (8) years of working experience as a Registered Nurse in Surgical Services area
