JOB SUMMARY:
This role will be responsible for engaging a portfolio of private and public charitable foundations as well as some churches and corporations to serve them in their global missions’ objectives through partnership with Global Disciples Canada (GDC). The role will also oversee identifying and securing new collaborations to expand this portfolio and support the work of Global Disciples Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and identify new foundations that are aligned with the vision and purpose of GDC
  • Prepare and submit compelling funding proposals to existing and newly identified foundations
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive funding reports to all current partnership agreements
  • Meet, communicate, and engage proactively with potential charitable foundations
  • Work alongside church leaders to identify common values and mission goals
  • Develop and nurture current relationships with charitable foundations
  • Maintain updated and accurate moves management action steps through our Salesforce CRM system
  • Report status of previous and outstanding funding applications at both board and international team meetings
  • Promote, attend, and represent GDC at fundraising events
  • Work on exhibition stands (when necessary) to help generate relational connections with potential donors and charitable partners
  • Perform other duties as required to support the effective operating and administration of GDC

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A demonstrated, dynamic Christian faith
  • A strong desire to see the Great Commission fulfilled
  • A strong identification with the vision and mission of Global Disciples
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience of building networks and relationships with external organisations for the purposes of engagement in financial partnership
  • Experience preparing and submitting funding proposals
  • A strong ability to prepare thorough reports to funders
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong administrative, organizational, time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills
  • Strong relational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and persuasion skills
  • An undergraduate degree in Business Studies or Communications or relevant work experience
  • Ability to work without minimal daily supervision and to also be able to work collaboratively within a team

PREFERRED

  • Direct experience working in the Canadian non-profit or charity sector
  • Business development skills for identifying and maximizing opportunities
  • Experience with donor research and Salesforce CRM software
  • Ability to speak another language preferably French, Mandarin or Cantonese
